ABYSSE DECANTER AND 4 TUMBLERS. Clear crystal by Thomas Bastide. Produced in a limited edition of a 1000 sets, the Abysse box set is the ultimate component of a well-stocked bar. The set showcases the crystal's multifaceted beauty and refracts the light. The tumbler, whose shape is more angular than the barrel-like round Abysse tumblers, is also sold singly, meaning that additional glasses may be purchased to fill out the set. The decanter, however, is sold exclusively within the box set: it is numbered on the underside, and its base is made in a special shade of deep midnight crystal. Created for Baccarat by Thomas Bastide in a '30s style, the chiseled flat cuts play off of the geometry of the hexagonal base. The striking architectural contours are characteristic of both the Abysse barware and the Abysse home décor pieces.
