This sublime bowl really is a work of art - it is so beautiful. Each bowl has been made by hand from sustainable mango wood and the colour and grain of the wood really shines through. These bowls look fantastic just as they are but also make wonderfully decadent salad bowls. To preserve the wood we advise that you wash this bowl in warm soapy water and dry immediately. Do not leave submerged in water as it may stain the wood. Mango trees are initially grown for their fruit but once the trees reach a certain size and age, they stop bearing fruit. It is then that the trees can be cut down and used to create wood products. The removal of the old trees makes space for farmers to plant new mango trees. This not only means that none of the wood is wasted but offers a supplementary income to mango wood farmers. Mango wood is a hard wood that comes in many shades from light to dark. Image 2 shows two bowls, currently only the larger size is available. Size: 35cm (diameter at top) x 15cm (diamater at base) x 23cm (height).
